Just freezer burn. Trim that off and youre fine.

It’s just a little freezer burn. Safe to eat, an it’s doubtful you’ll notice it.

As long as it’s been at freezing or below temps it’s entire life, and was in good quality when it went in, in theory it should be OK. At minimum, give it a smell test. If you’re not sure, chuck it out. Definitely cook it thoroughly.

Probably safe, yes. But definitely freezer burn so it probably won’t taste that great.

Should be just fine. That looks like freezer burn. Would just suggest putting them in a brine when they’re thawed before cooking so they don’t dry out too much.

Hi friends! I also need some advice – what is freezer burn!!!! I grew up thinking I would die if I left a ziplock with enough air in it to have the chickens ice over it was dangerous. My mom raised us vegetarian and I am not anymore but my god I feel like an idiot sometimes trying to relearn stuff

Next time wrap it tightly in Saran Wrap before putting it in the bag. Problem solved.

Freezer above a fridge or a deep freezer?

Safe, yes. Good, nah. But it looks like you can chisel off the freezer-burnt part and still have a pretty tasty nearly-whole piece of chicken. Although, some people don’t really care about freezer-burn.
